Junk in space is a whale of a problem. There are more than 75 hundred tonnes of junk orbiting the earth. European aerospace company Airbus thinks it has a whale of a solution; a high tech harpoon.

The harpoon would round up defunct satellites and drag them into earth's atmosphere to burn up. The big concern is an 8 tonne earth observation satellite that died 6 years ago.

We'll talk to Airbus advanced projects engineer Alastair Wayman about how the harpoon may be just the thing to move the monster safely out of the way.
