Chaos has descended on Hawke's Bay today - a reported 320 milimetres has fallen in parts within the last 24 hours..

Rivers have bulged, roads have been closed from slips and thunderstorms are expected to continue until early tomorrow morning.

Ian Macdonald is the group controller for Hawke's Bay Regional Council and he tells Jesse where the area is worst hit and what people need to be doing.
