Bookmarks: Chris Dobbs of Working Style

From Afternoons, 2:22 pm on 19 April 2017

Chris Dobbs started working life, hawking shirts door to door.

His burgeoning fashion empire took a great step forward when he progressed to selling items made by his mother's sewing circle in the town of Marton.

Thirty years on his company employs 44 staff, working half a dozen stores around the country.

Their high end suits, shirts and casual-wear are worn by many of our politicians, media celebrities and sporting heroes. Working Style has become almost a household name for quality and is another New Zealand fashion success story.

He talks to Jesse about his career, and the music, books and shows that have inspired him.
