1:25 Plastic flatpack wine bottles the new thing

While we may once have turned our noses up at screw-top wine bottles - they're now pretty much the accepted norm.

But what about wine from a plastic bottle?

Plastic flat pack wine bottles are growing in popularity in Australia and across many parts of Europe.

They're made from pre-existing plastic, they're reusable, lightweight, and easier to pack and transport - in fact they're so thin they can be posted through a letter box.

Billed as the wine bottle of the future, they're set to be introduced here in Aotearoa.

1:35 Intercity service between Nelson and Queenstown suspended

Intercity is suspending its bus service between Nelson and Queenstown, which takes passengers up and down the Coast.

Before Covid buses ran daily, but once the pandemic hit the service was reduced to three days a week and relied on funding from the Ministry of Transport.

It's a hard pill to swallow for towns like Fox and Franz Josef which are desperate to get local business back on its feet.

Westland's new mayor Helen Lash talks to Jesse.

3:35 Critter of the Week: The Kitefin Shark

This week’s critter lives in the twilight zone of the world’s largest ecosystem and is the largest glow-in-the-dark vertebrate in the world.

The kitefin shark is a powerful and solitary hunter that will take a bite out of pretty much anything. But don’t worry – it lives far too deep to ever be a danger to humans!
