Visionwest has designed a drive-through Christmas foodbank so delivery can be contactless and meet Covid-19 restrictions.

1:50 Waihi school kids star in tourism campaign 

Schools kids in Waihi have turned on the charm in a new tourism campaign for their North Island beach town that asks, 'Why Not Waihi?'

In the 30-second video clip the kids visit local tourist hot spots like the goldmine and Karangahake Gorge.

Waihi cameraman and director Scott Spicer helped the kids put it together, and chats to Karyn Hay about the campaign and what locals love most about their town.

2.20 Therapy dogs welcome travellers to Christchurch

For the last two days, between 12 and 1 pm, those passing through Christchurch airport may have made some furry new friends.

Therapy dogs have been welcoming pats, cuddles and "paw-fives" from anxious travellers as the Auckland border restrictions were lifted.

3:35 Critter of the Week Twin tailed Salp

Salps are gender-fluid, translucent jelly-beans which band together to form long chains, travelling the oceans in a gelatinous tunic!

The world’s largest salp is called the Twin-sailed Salp and the biggest specimen was found off the coast of New Zealand during a NIWA expedition. It is also called the Super Pooper because it’s nutritious poop feeds life on the seafloor.
