Researchers have developed a tool to help locate missing shareholders of Māori freehold land.

They have used a so-called "flaxroots" rethink of how technology can be used alongside communities to locate landowners.

Sydney Shep and Rere-No-A-Rangi Pope worked on the project and explain to Jesse how they have taken a cultural approach with technology to create the system.

Organisers of a six day kayaking adventure is hoping to attract up to volunteer for a Gorsebusters project.

Baz Hughes of Okarito Kayaks explains to Jesse they will look after the keen kayakers for the time they are working on the Okarito lagoon, as long as they don't mind helping to clear away gorse and weeds from the area.

This week's critter has been described as "the essence of the Goblin Forest". Unsea lichens has many other names, such as tree dandruff, woman's long hair and beard lichens.

It was also used in that past by Māori to make nappies and sanitary pads. DOC's Nic Toki explains to Jesse just how clever that was given the antiseptic properties the lichen has.
