1:15 Dementia patients prescribed inappropriate drugs

Older people living with dementia may be being prescribed the wrong drugs, which puts them at risk of worsening cognitive impairment, a new study has found.

The University of Otago paper calls for improvements to prescriptions and reviews to ensure the appropriate medicines are given to patients.

Lead author Dr Sharmin Bala is here to tell us why these drugs could exacerbate medical problems.

1:25 Yoga and mental health

If you're looking for a bit of well-being and serenity perhaps start this weekend, Saturday is New Zealand's first Yoga Day.

The inaugural day has been created by Franko Heke and Niki Rhodes and their focus is emotional health. Franko has a history of mental illness, which he self-medicated with drugs and alcohol - until he found yoga.

Franko tells me why he credits the exercise with helping his mental health.

2:20 Your Money with Mary Holm Sorting your finances step by step

In Mary's new book, Rich Enough? A laid-back guide for every Kiwi, she writes about eight steps to get your finances sorted. She talks with Jesse about why it's best to do it in steps, why she's put the steps in a particular order, and what each step covers. The steps are:

Step 1: Start now - it's easy
Step 2: Kill off high-interest debt
Step 3: Set up insurance - and a rainy day fund
Step 4: Join the best KiwiSaver fund for you
Step 5: Boost your saving painlessly - how and where
Step 6: Stay cool
Step 7: Head confidently towards retirement - and through it
And:  (when it's the right time for you - if ever): Buy a house, or sell one
