Dementia patients prescribed inappropriate drugs

Older people living with dementia may be being prescribed the wrong drugs, which puts them at risk of worsening cognitive impairment, a new study has found.

The University of Otago paper calls for improvements to prescriptions and reviews to ensure the appropriate medicines are given to patients. 

Lead author Dr Sharmin Bala is here to tell us why these drugs could exacerbate medical problems.
