2:10 Podcasts with Katy Atkin

Katy Atkin reviews two podcasts for us; The Habitat by Gimlet Media and Tales from Parcast.

2:20 Mary Holm: Men, women, spending and investing

A letter from a listener includes lots of food for thought. The listener, a single woman, ponders why the elderly and single women are more likely than others to spend too little. Perhaps it’s partly circumstances and partly old-fashioned perceptions. And she tells a story of how she’s financially outdone a man she dated.

Mary comments on the letter, and looks at gender differences in money management, and in investing. Men tend to trade more often and to take more risk – for good and bad. Mary also considers why those differences might be there.
