1:25 Do Therapy-Animals really help?

The therapy-animal trend has taken off in the States and we often hear that animal companions are good for reducing stress and anxiety.

But our guest says that may not be the case, and there's a 'murky' body of evidence to support such notions. Molly Crossman is a Yale University doctoral candidate, and her research focuses on understanding, reducing, and circumventing barriers to mental health.

1:45 Great Live Album:  Johnny Cash at San Quentin

Today's live album was recorded at a very unusual concert venue.  San Quentin State Prison, located just north of San Francisco, is the oldest jail in California and houses 4,200 prisoners.

On February 24th, 1969, Johnny Cash with his band The Tennessee Three, The Carter Family and Staler Brothers visited San Quentin to film a TV special for UK's Grenada Television.  They literally performed to a captive audience

3:25 Critter of the Week: The Northern Giant Petrel

DoC's Nicola Toki reckons Giant petrels are truly the vultures of the sea. "I have seen them landing on a dead whale in Foveaux Strait and eating it".

Unlike other species in their family, they walk strongly on land, and are just as happy eating dead seals and penguins on land, as they are feeding at sea. They can dive up to two metres.
