2:10 The Leopard Doco - Judith Curran

One of New Zealand's most accomplished wildlife documentary makers is about to try and change the minds of a billion Chinese about using products from endangered animals. To do that, award winner Judith Curran spent a lot of time filming in Africa, home of the threatened elephant and rhino.

She still loves Africa, despite it being the place which nearly cost her her life ten years ago. That was when Judith was famously mauled by a leopard called Akira.

2:20 Nurse Isobel Thompson - Lynda Chanwai-Earle

Lynda Chanwai-Earle brings us a story about the passing of a "quiet" NZ legend. Nurse Isobel Thompson worked for CORSO from 1947-50 during China's brutal civil war, helping orphaned children. She was there because of an appeal to NZ from Madame Sun Yat-sen for qualified staff to work in the Peace Hospitals. Lynda hears from the Consul General of China and broadcaster George Andrews about why Nurse Isobel Thompson is considered a household name in China.
