2:10 The Tall Ships Race - Tessa Duder - The Spirit of New Zealand is among seven Tall Ships currently sailing from Sydney to the Bay of Islands, in the first ever trans-Tasman Tall Ships race. She's racing against Tall Ships from the UK, the Netherlands, Canada and Australia. They left Sydney last thursday, and the race is expected to take seven to 10 days. On board is the Spirit of Adventure Trust's deputy chair, the writer Tessa Duder.
2:25 World Parkinson's Video Winner - Andy McDowell - A couple of months ago we spoke to Andy McDowell, who - after being diagnosed with Parkinsons at the age of 43 - wrote a poem, in an effort to explain the disease to his two young daughters. Such was the response to the poem, entitled "Smaller," that - with the help of many people - he made it into an animated film. He entered it in the video competition at the World Parkinson's Congress, held in Montreal earlier this month - it was one of 113 entries from 18 countries. Narrated by his seven-year-old daughter, Lily, "Smaller" has won both the competition, and the people's choice award.
