An Australian study released this week has found that teenage boys have a harder time than girls when their parents split up. Dr Jodie Lodge is a psychologist at the Australian Institute of Family Studies and one of the co-authors of the study.

The finest fleeces in the country will be crowned this weekend at the Golden Fleece Awards in Ranfurly. Woolgrowers from around the country are gearing up for the competition, the largest of it's kind in New Zealand, with events taking place over three days. Ian Smith is one of the organisers of the event.

They've come from Canada, Samoa, Australia and all over New Zealand to attend te Kura Raumati - Summer Camp, at the Church of Te Hepara Pai and run by Te Hui Amorangi te Waipounamu. The day is a special treat for the tamariki and rangatahi - children and teenagers - as a reward for hard work on Bible studies they get the crew the waka Te Kowhai, on the Avon River.

The waka was built by Jimmy Brennan, who's whakapapa is represented in the carvings.
