"Identity theft" usually involves someone using your personal details to steal money from your bank account. But now schoolchildren as young as 10 are becoming the targets of identity theft for the purpose of bullying. One Taranaki primary school principal was asked to investigate when one of this students was being impersonated online. A boy had been posing as a girl on Facebook, causing the family no end of distress. The profile has now been deleted, and that situation resolved. Identity theft online adds another issue to the long list of things parents need to be concerned about with the kids on the computers.

Four seasons in one day has nothing on New Zealand band Opshop. The band is playing 10 gigs in one day to mark the 10th anniversary of New Zealand Music Month.

The musical odyssey begins tomorrow at 6am. Opshop will perform at Christchurch airport, then Timaru, Hokitika, Nelson, Wanganui, Hawke's Bay, Gisborne and Hamilton, and end with a show at Butterfly Creek, near Auckland Airport. Wine:

Cheap and Cheerful

Whalebone Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009 $7.99 - available online. I love the 2009 Marlborough sauvignons and the Whalebone Bay is no exception. Passionfruit, lemon verbena, lime and grassy notes on the nose and in the mouth it's tangy, vibrant and long on flavour. It's hard to comprehend how they can make wine this good so cheap, but I'm definitely not complaining. It's juicy, tropical and pure summer in a bottle.

Mid Price Marvelousness

Wynns Coonawarra Shiraz Merlot Cabernet 2007 $15 - widely available. Wynns Coonawarra Estate was the first winery to be established in the Coonawarra, by John Riddoch in 1896, and it's a fantastic example of what coonawarra does so well because they draw fruit from vineyards spanning the entire region. It's incredibly rich, complex and ultimately drinkable. It has delicious plum, cocoa and pepper characters that merge with smooth, warming tannins to deliver an exceptionally good value-for-money red.

Treat Yourself

Sourced from vertigo-inducingly steep terraces looking out over the famed Gimblett Gravels region in Hawke's Bay, this is an exceptionally good pepper-packed syrah that oozes class and character. Gorgeous plump berryfruit and floral-laced spices lead to a hearty, warming, rib-sticking red that's great drinking now, but will definitely reward a couple of years in the cellar. The grapes are grown by Gus and Mel Lawson (ex Te Awa) and the wine is made by legendary winemaker Rod McDonald (Vidals, Matariki et al) - so it definitely has credentials.
