Fiji's Immigration Ministry has issued an "urgent and high-priority" warning about a fake website impersonating the country's official e-Visa platform.

In a statement on 7 August, immigration permanent secretary Aliki Salusalu said the "fraudulent" website has been illegally gathering personal information.

"This unauthorised and deceptive site, which was registered on 24 June 2025, is in no way affiliated to the Fijian Government of the Ministry of Immigration. It has been deliberately created to mislead and defraud individuals seeking immigration of visa-related services."

Salusalu said the ministry viewed this as a "serious threat to public safety and national security".

The ministry is working with law enforcement and cyber intelligence agencies to investigate the site and mitigate its risks, he added.

Users have been advised to check that the web address they use ends in ".gov.fj", the exclusive domain used by official government platforms.
