The International Paralympic Committee announced that Samoa, Kiribati, Tonga and Vanuatu were forced to withdraw from the event because of travel restrictions due to Covid-19.

But the secretary general of Fiji's Paralympic Committee, Shivanjani Singh, says while the situation kept changing, the two Fijian Paralympians remained determined to push forward.

Inosi Bulimairewa is set to compete in the F63 javelin event, with Iosefo Rakesa participating in both F63 shot put and javelin.

Iosefo Rakesa will also be representing Fiji as the flag bearer at tonight's event.
