Representative Tina Sablan wants the Department of Public Works to explain why a company was allowed to build when it lacked the necessary documents.

In October the Building Safety Code Division issued a notice to IPI that alleged violations pertaining to its construction of the Imperial Pacific Resort on Saipan.

According to the notice, IPI failed to provide approved construction documents.

It also allegedly failed to obtain an approved inspector and failed to submit inspector reports and tests from June 2019 up until now.

Due to the violations, a stop-work order was produced on the site with IPI saying it's working to quickly resolve the issue.
