Importance of Covid-19 health measures reiterated in Guam after weekend deaths

Guam has suffered two more Covid-related deaths and another 41 positive cases of the coronavirus over the weekend to take their total number of infections to 4216, including 71 fatalities.

The latest deaths included a 55 year old man and a 67 year old man, both with underlying health conditions.

1642 cases are regarded as active.

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero offered her condolences to the family and friends of those who had died.

"As we join in sorrow with the families and friends who have lost so much to this virus, we must also do all that we can so no more of our fellow brothers and sisters suffer the same fate," Lou Leon Guerrero said.

Lou Leon Guerrero said the message remained the same, "wear your masks, social distance, and stay home".

"My heart is heavy with emotion, and I continuously pray that we will never make another announcement," she said.

"To the people of Guam, please continue to practice the necessary precautions to protect yourselves and your loved ones."
