More Covid cases reported in Guam as govt introduces mortgage relief

There have been 66 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Guam in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases 24 were identified through contact tracing and six were recent arrivals from the US identified in quarantine.

There have been 2,934 officially reported cases of COVID-19 in Guam to date with 58 deaths, 810 cases remain in active isolation.

Meanwhile, the Guam government has implemented a mortgage relief programme for people struggling with home repayments due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The programme will be run by the Guam Housing Corporation and will provide three months of mortgage assistance to those eligible for it.

To qualify for the scheme mortgage holders must have either lost their jobs or had their work hours significantly reduced.

They must also be occupying the home for which they are applying for mortgage assistance and household income criteria.
