According to the Chairman of the Coronavirus Task Force, Iulogologo Joseph Pereira, the Samoa Prime Minister wrote to Governor Lolo Moliga requesting the engineer's help.

A Samoa Airways Twin Otter which has been based in Pago Pago since last month took the engineer for the quick visit, authorised under current covid emergency provisions.

Meanwhile, KHJ News asked Iulogologo about a proposal from Apia for a weekly inter Samoa flight to allow citizens and residents of the two sides to return home.

He said Governor Lolo is not in any discussion about reopening the territory's borders.
