The ban applies to animal feed as well as food toys, such as chew bones, made in areas infected with African swine fever.

At its weekly meeting, the government today also decided to approve some nickel ore sales to China and Japan.

The local Nickel Mining Company has been authorised to sell 800,000 tonnes of ore to Yichuan of China.

The company SMGM can supply 575,000 of low-grade ore to Sumitomo of Japan.
