7 new Samoa Lands and Titles court judges to be sworn in

Seven new judges of Samoa's Lands and Titles court will be sworn in by acting Chief Justice Vui Clarence Nelson and other judges in a ceremony today.

Ministry of Justice chief executive Moliei Simi Va'ai said the selections came after a robust recruitment process.

They include a former Manu Samoa coach and politician, Tuala Lepale Aveau Niko Palamo, as well as former chief executive of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Leali'ie'e Tua'imalo Asamu Ah Sam.

The former assistant chief executive of the Immigration Division, La'ulu Seuamuli Henry Taefu, will also be appointed.

The other four judges are Afemata Tiava'asu'e Alesana Lafi, Feagaimali'i Nanai Malaelua Sua, Luafalealo Lilo Mikaele Tofete and Tuloa Fetufou Aiono.

They will begin training to take up their new roles next month.
