Parent organisations in Wallis and Futuna seeking to curb violence at schools have met traditional leaders to get support.
The groups have made representations to the traditional King and plan public meetings to discuss their concerns.
The territory's broadcaster said violent incidents at schools had been videotaped and were being widely shared.
The report said the violence was worsened by a lack of oversight, leading to calls to ban the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors and to ban mobile phones from school premises.
It said some regard the situation as so serious that they feared that somebody might die.
