Footage emerged on Friday of Frank Bainimarama grabbing and shoving Pio Tikoduadua outside parliament earlier this month.

A police investigation is underway and the parliamentary speaker is reviewing CCTV footage of the incident.

Mr Tikoduadua, a member for the National Federation party, said the video proved his critics wrong.

"Now that the video has come out, I think it's told exactly the same story that I've told from day one, including my statement to the police so I think in a way it has cleared me."

Pio Tikoduadua said it was now up to police to do their job.

The police and the Prime Minister's office have not yet responded to requests for comment.
