CNMI airport now 70 percent restored after Typhoon Yutu

The Ports Authority in the Northern Marianas says it has spent $US2.6 million to restore the country's international airport.

It said the airport is now 70 percent recovered from damage caused by Super Typhoon Yutu last October.

The authority said it had also received $US5 million in property insurance and that an additional $US10 million is forthcoming.
