Fiji's police say they seized over $US94 million worth of drugs during various operations last year.

Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho told the FBC the haul represented a record year for the force.

Mr Qiliho said police are now working with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution on how to deal with the drugs.

He said the drugs could cause health issues for police officers or tempt them into becoming dealers so they are working with the office to destroy them.
