Power will be out for a second consecutive night in Niue tonight, as efforts are underway to connect a solar power grid.

In a statement, Niue Power said there will be an island-wide outage from 10pm until 6am tomorrow.
The company said experts from New Zealand are working on solar grid panelling.
New Zealand is contributing nearly $US4 million to the project, which will increase Niue's renewable electricity from 13 percent to 40 percent.
