A senator in the Federated States of Micronesia has introduced legislation which would ban transgender people from working in government.

Isaac Figir from Yap state submitted the bill to congress last month but it has not been voted on yet.

Eddie Nathan Winis, a Chuukese LGBTQ rights advocate, told the Pacific Daily News he questions why transgender people couldn't work in government.

He said everyone should be treated equally.
