Leading Fiji trade unionist resigns to contest election

Leading Fiji trade unionist Attar Singh is planning to stand in the November 14 election.

To comply with election regulations Mr Singh has resigned his union posts representing workers in the aviation, telecommunications, mining, local government, energy sectors and workers on the docks.

Mr Singh intends to be one of the 51 nominations of the NFP - a party he once led.
