American Samoa candidates line up for November poll

Two sitting members of American Samoa's House of Representatives are running unopposed in the November 6 general elections.

They are Vailoata Eteuati Amituanai and Titialii Kitara Vaiau.

55 individuals are contesting 20 of the 21 seats in the House.

The remaining seat is for Swains Island which selects its representative in a meeting of Swains islanders.

Seven candidates are women including the two sitting members of the House Vui Florence Saulo and Fialupe Fiaui Lutu.

The election of American Samoa's delegate to the US Congress has incumbent Aumua Amata, Meleagi Suitonu Chapman and Tuika Tuika, who was a previous contender for governor.
