A group of young people broke into the office in Montravel in Noumea, allegedly stealing a small safe with a small sum of cash and Red Cross chequebooks.
The premises was broken into three weeks ago.
A Red Cross volunteer said the organisation was there to help.
He told local television that despite being targeted by young people, the perpetrators needed to hear a message of hope.
He said as in Iceland an effort should be made to guide young people early so that there was less of a chance of them turning to crime.
