The US Small Business Administration has approved more than $1 million in federal disaster low interest loans to businesses and residents of American Samoa affected by Tropical Cyclone Gita in February this year.

An SBA official Tanya Garfield, said that the federal agency has already approved more than $US1.1 million dollars in disaster loans.
A total of $US101,700 is for businesses and just over $US1.06 million for residents.
Ms Garfield said the SBA is committed to helping businesses and residents rebuild as quickly as possible following a disaster.
She has been encouraging businesses and residents who sustained damages from the storm to register prior to the May 1st deadline with the Federal Emergency Management Agency if they want assistance.
