An ex-convict and a security guard are alleged to have run the clandestine operation in a hotel room and at a home.

Vincent David Cabrera Jr and Eugene Blas Repeki were arrested by drug enforcement officers and charged in the federal court with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

The pair were found out after a pharmacy employee tipped off authorities about an unusually large purchase of medicine containing pseudo-ephedrine, which is used to manufacture "ice."

The Northern Marianas has been plagued by ongoing illegal drug problems for years.
