It was endorsed by both the Senate and the House of Representatives yesterday, after the Senate increased the Fono's budget by $US500,000 to just over $US7 million.

The House had been opposed to this increase because it required funding cuts to three projects.

But the Senate president Gaoteote Tofau Palaie said the Fono couldn't fully function without the funding boost, and the House reluctantly fell into line.
