Fiji's police commissioner says there is no threat to Fiji's border security despite revelations of an operation which saw dozens of suspected fraudsters repatriated to China last week.
Seventy seven Chinese nationals were sent back on a charter flight after a joint operation involving Chinese and Fijian police.
Opposition politicians said the case exposed flaws in Fiji's border security and immigration systems.
Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho told FBC News the majority of the suspects were operating in Nadi and around the west.
He said they were not into conducting crime in Fiji and none of the victims was Fijian.
He reiterated that none of them had Fijian passports, saying they were in breach of their visa conditions.
The commissioner said the police got the suspects as soon as they came in and China is continuing the investigations in their own country.
