A suspended Fiji parliamentarian Ratu Isoa Tikoca has filed an application at the Suva High Court for leave to apply for judicial review.
FBC News reported that Mr Tikoca was challenging the decision of parliament to suspend him for the rest of the term of parliament, which ends next year.
Speaker of Parliament is represented by Solicitor General Sharvada Sharma.
Mr Sharma objected to the application and also filed an application for a stay to await the decision of the Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu case as the same arguments have been made in that case.
However, High Court Judge Justice Lyone Seneviratne told Mr Sharma that Ratu Naiqama's case was separate and they would not await the decision of that case.
