Flash flood and wind warnings for American Samoa

People in American Samoa are being warned of flash flooding and high winds which could down power lines.

Landslides have been reported from Fagasa and Pago Pago and roads throughout the island of Tutuila are under water.

The National Weather Service said an active monssonal trough over the islands will continue to generate strong and gusty northwesterlies until Tuesday night.

It was warning the wind may down power lines, trees and make driving difficult.

A warning is also in force in Wallis and Futuna where people are advised not to go out at sea.

There is also a risk of trees being blown over.
