The aircraft will now arrive in Tahiti this evening before returning to Los Angeles and then Paris.

A state of natural disaster is in force after the weekend rain flooded much of Tahiti and Moorea.

Thousands of households lost power but most have been reconnected.

Schools remained closed as people were being warned of more heavy rain.

The French overseas minister has released just over $US200000 to help with relief efforts.
