American Samoa's US Congresswoman Aumua Amata Radewagen says ensuring the tuna canning multi-national Tri Marine retains a presence in the territory will be a key issue for her in the new term.

After her landslide victory last Tuesday Aumua is now back in Washington DC.

The Congresswoman said to keep Tri Marine in American Samoa she will be looking towards the corporate tax reforms promised by President-elect Donald Trump.

"But we mustn't forget that he will not be in power until January 20th so there is still a little bit of time, but we want to be able to do that. I want to be able to take a good hard look now at a new hospital, simply because my party now controls everything," she said.
