Tourist numbers in the Northern Marianas have continued to revive and breached the half-a-million mark in fiscal year 2016.

According to the Marianas Visitors Authority, visitor arrivals to Saipan, Tinian, and Rota reached 501,000.

That amounts to a 4.5-percent increase compared to the fiscal year 2015.

It marks the first year since 2005 that visitor arrivals to the CNMI surpassed the 500,000 mark.
