More than a hundred households on the Tongan island of Niuafo'ou have had their water supply improved.
115 homes have had five thousand litre water tanks installed as part of the Tonga Red Cross' Community Water Resilience Project.
The Red Cross said the people of the Niua group were very vulnerable to drought and were isolated from the main island of Tongatapu and government services.
The aid agency said giving people the chance to access clean drinking water was a step forward in the development of the island group.
The project, launched by the King of Tonga, cost US$168,000 and was funded by Switzerland, China and New Zealand.
