Matangi Tonga reports the Ha'apai representative's case will be heard at the magistrate's court to see whether he agrees to commit his case to the Supreme Court for trial.

Lord Tu'iha'ateiho is also charged with the unlawful killing of a pig, discharging a firearm within the boundaries of a town, trespassing and public disturbance.

The charges relate to two incidents in April and May that allegedly involved arguments with neighbours in Ha'ateiho.

A complaint was filed and police executed a search warrant at his home where a bullet was allegedly found.

This is not the first time Lord Tu'iha'ateiho, has faced the law.

In 2014, a Supreme Court judge found him guilty of possessing a firearm without a licence and fined him US$2,500.
