Reports from Vanuatu say the Prime Minister Charlot Salwai is calling for the resignation of the national broadcaster's board and general manager because of ongoing financial problems.
The Vanuatu Broadcasting and Television Corporation was set up with a mandate to become financially sustainable but so far it has been operating with an annual grant from the Government.

The Daily Post reported the call came following the power company UNELCO's decision to cut electricity to VBTC for not paying its bills.
The board chair Johnetty Jerety and the General Manager Fred Vurobaravu told the government they are doing their best to address the challenges.
The VBTC operates Radio Vanuatu and Television blong Vanuatu which have faced intermittent blackouts.
