Samoa and Cook Islands have missed out on the women's Olympic sevens tournament after being knockout at the final qualifier in Dublin.
The Manusina advanced to the knockout rounds after wins over Zimbabwe and Madagascar.
But after being thrashed 47-0 by Russia in their final group match, the Samoans were outclassed 26-0 by Kazakhstan in the quarter finals and 28-5 by China in the playoff for fifth to eighth place.

Coach Ramsey Tomokino said it was always going to be difficult with such a short build-up and only a few matches under their belts.
"We obviously missed the mark and we actually had predicted where we would probably be at the end of pool play and the game we were really gunning for was the Kazakhstan (game) and just the first half we were down 5-0 and were probably unlucky not to have scored one ourselves.
"We made a mistake after the kickoff and we were pretty much camped on our line for the rest of the game and Kazakhstan came away with a good win," he said.
"Our big goal was to get to the semis and we didn't make that but think it's the first time since 2000 that a Samoa Manusina women's team has actually made it to the Cup quarter finals."
Cook Islands finished in ninth place after going unbeaten on day two.

Crystal Kaua's side drew 12-12 against Hong Kong in their opening match of the tournament before narrow defeats against Argentina 17-12 and Kazakhstan 12-5.
After finishing winless in the pool stages the Kukis pipped Madagascar 7-0 in the Challenge Trophy quarter finals before beating Portugal 24-14 in the semis and Hong Kong 17-12 in the final.
"Day one was learnings for us and we came really within one try of every team we played. Our first game (on day two) against Madagascar we played similar rugby to what we did on day one but then to perform how we did in games two and three - the semi and the final - because we actually stuck to the gameplan and played the wide to wide game we've been playing around with (in training) and we had strong defence," said Crystal Kaua.
"We were mixing it today with teams who are paid to do this and have been together, working on this for years so I think it's pretty exciting."
The Spanish women's side defeated Russia 19-12 to claim the final Olympic qualifying berth, matching the efforts of their men's team a week earlier.
