Fire crews have put out a fire at a hotel in Central Auckland on Wednesday night, amid wild weather across the North Island.
Fire and Emergency sent 14 crews to the fire at the Hotel Grand Chancellor on Wellesley Street about 8.40pm.
Guests were evacuated and FENZ said the fire took one hour to put out.

A few firefighters remained at the scene to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.

Wellesley St West, between Nelson and Hobson Streets, was closed to traffic, while crews attended to the callout.
