Marshall Islands police say 18 kg of cocaine has washed up on Enewetak Atoll, the former United States nuclear weapons testing site.
It's the latest in a string of cases of drugs washing up on shore.
Police said some cocaine that was believed to have come from Enewetak was now being sold in the capital, Majuro.
Our correspondent in Majuro reported drugs and outboard engine boats had been washing up on beaches around the Marshall Islands for more than 30 years.
The Marshall Islands is on the northern trans-Pacific cocaine route from South America to China.
The Office of the Attorney General said criminal charges would be filed on completion of the investigation against a person accused of possession of the drugs.
