Tonga's Dateline Hotel preps for September reopening

8:18 am on 10 May 2016

The Tanoa International Dateline Hotel in Tonga has begun accepting reservations and is expected to open in September.

The hotel was formerly known known as the International Dateline and was solely owned by the Tongan government before it was taken over last year by the Fiji-based Tanoa Hotel group for redevelopment.

Tonga's Secretary for Finance Tatafu Moeaki said the renovation would be complete by the end of August and there are plans to commission it in early September.

Kaniva Pacific reports the renovation work was initially planned to be completed by January 2017.
