In American Samoa, an eight-member jury has finally been picked for the murder trial of Siaumau Siaumau Jr.

He's on trial for the fatal shooting of police detective Lt Liusila brown in July of 2010 and attempted murder of two other police officers.

The last two jurors were chosen yesterday afternoon at the High Court.

The trial gets underway this morning at the High Court with the attorneys delivering their opening statements, an outline of what they think the evidence will show.

The prosecution is the first to present their case and their witness list includes police officers, court marshals, news reporters, and family members of the defendant.
