A Vanuatu magistrate has adjourned the conspiracy case against a former prime minister, Joe Natuman, and the former Vanuatu Police Commissioner, Aru Maralau.

The lawyer for both men, Edward Nalial, was told yesterday that police investigators have only this week submitted documents regarding the case to the public prosecutor.

Mr Maralau told media outside court that so far he has not been summoned to appear in court.

Last month the magistrate refused a police application to arrest the high-profile men.

The conspiracy matter relates to a complaint by fellow MP Moana Carcasses in 2014.

Mr Carcasses alleges they conspired to defeat the course of justice.

Mr Carcasses is currently serving a jail sentence for bribery, along with 14 other MPs from the previous government.
