Tahitian tennis player Heve Kelley says his recent Davis Cup experience will hold him in good stead for the future.

The 18 year old was part of the Pacific Oceania Davis Cup team that won promotion to Group Three earlier this year in Bahrain.

Kelley has been attending school in Auckland since September in an effort to combine his schoolwork, improve his tennis and possibly gain a US university scholarship.

Kelley says he is keen to remain involved in the Pacific Oceania Davis Cup programme after making his debut this year.

"It was really a brilliant experience. It was the first time I went to the Davis Cup. It was a really great experience and the first time I did that kind of trip and I played much stronger players than I used to play in Tahiti."
